Meet the Pronouns!
Get to know the Pronouns! Below you'll find a card of each player, a summary of how they joined the team, and why they're so important to our success!
Brittney Miller, #27, 1B/OF
It's ya girl, the founder of the Puget Sound Pronouns! When I created this team, I had no idea what kinds of heights we would reach in such a short period of time. Originally, I was looking to move up to the C division while creating a space that was explicitly friendly to trans and non-binary players.
Our impact has grown beyond my wildest dreams. I believe that we have a responsibility to represent the LGBTQIA+ community—especially the trans and non-binary communities—with pride, passion, and respect.
The league we play in, the Emerald City Softball Association, helped me out of the closet. I joined presenting as a cishet man, and its welcoming spaces allowed me to discover and embrace who I am. The Pronouns are my way of giving back to a commmunity that gave me so much.
This team means everything to me, and I'm honored to have the opportunity to lead it. It is my hope and belief that we will positively impact the community as much as the team has positively impacted me.
Michael Vierela, #15, OF
Michael joined the Pronouns during our inaugral season, and quickly showed us why he's a valuable part of a the lineup, the outfield, and the organization.
Michael sprays line drives all over the field, lulling opponents into a false sense of security as they creep up to catch singles, leaving him with the opportunity to bash one over their heads. In the outfield, he has the wheels to track down difficult fly balls, and a strong, accurate arm that holds baserunners at bay.
Beyond his play, Michael makes a point to attend other Pronouns events, helping us expand our reach and messaging beyond just the local softball community. Any team would benefit from having him, so we're very grateful he chose to play with us!
