Brittney Miller, #27, 1B/OF

It's ya girl, the founder of the Puget Sound Pronouns! When I created this team, I had no idea what kinds of heights we would reach in such a short period of time. Originally, I was looking to move up to the C division while creating a space that was explicitly friendly to trans and non-binary players.

Our impact has grown beyond my wildest dreams. I believe that we have a responsibility to represent the LGBTQIA+ community—especially the trans and non-binary communities—with pride, passion, and respect.

The league we play in, the Emerald City Softball Association, helped me out of the closet. I joined presenting as a cishet man, and its welcoming spaces allowed me to discover and embrace who I am. The Pronouns are my way of giving back to a commmunity that gave me so much.

This team means everything to me, and I'm honored to have the opportunity to lead it. It is my hope and belief that we will positively impact the community as much as the team has positively impacted me.

Tony Scartozzi, #20, P/IF

Tony is an integral part of the team, starting with a dangerous bat with power from foul line to foul line! He's also a leader in the dugout, helping teammates keep their emotions in check during tense times, and stay focused on the game.

He's also a strong defender wherever he's put on the diamond—which is good, because he has seen time at nearly every position on the field!

Off the field, Tony has a strong commitment to helping the LGBTQIA+ community, volunteering for events the team puts on or assists with. He's also a dedicated partner and compassionate friend. We wouldn't be where we are without Tony's on-and-off field contributions!

Michael Vierela, #15, OF

Michael joined the Pronouns during our inaugral season, and quickly showed us why he's a valuable part of a the lineup, the outfield, and the organization.

Michael sprays line drives all over the field, lulling opponents into a false sense of security as they creep up to catch singles, leaving him with the opportunity to bash one over their heads. In the outfield, he has the wheels to track down difficult fly balls, and a strong, accurate arm that holds baserunners at bay.

Beyond his play, Michael makes a point to attend other Pronouns events, helping us expand our reach and messaging beyond just the local softball community. Any team would benefit from having him, so we're very grateful he chose to play with us!

Mandi Headrick, #1, SS

New to the ECSA in 2023, Mandi has made an instant impact on the field and been fast forming friendships both with teammates and other members of the league. When Tony saw her at field day, he knew that she had to be a Pronoun, and we're much better off for it!

With softball experience in college, Mandi has great instincts, flashing the leather at the most busy spot in the infield. She's not just good at getting to the ball, though—once she fields it, she unleashes cannon shots across the diamond to her teammates. Paired with a solid line drive stroke, she's an asset to the team on both sides of the ball.

We're grateful to be the team introducing Mandi to the ECSA, because her enthusiasm and positive energy helps lift everyone that she comes in contact with. Welcome to the Pronouns, Mandi!

Gail Scott, #92, 2B/C

The smile you see in Gail's picture is the smile you're going to see any time you interact with her, whether she's smashing a line drive off of you, or chatting at a social event after the game!

Gail is a versatile player, typically playing second base and catcher quite capably, but she can also move to third base or even pitch when the team needs her to! At the dish, her big smile and small stature will give the other team a false sense of security, before she blasts a laser down the left field line to get aboard.

Gail plays almost every sport, for as many teams as possible all year round, so we are very grateful that she chose to give some of her time to the Pronouns! Don't let that smile in the batter's box fool you—it's coming at you hard!

Zac DeLap, #35, OF

Zac is one of the founding members of the Pronouns, helping Brittney come up with the name, logo, and handle all of the logistic work to help get this organization off the ground. And oh yeah, he's also one of the best hitters in all of ECSA! No big deal.

Zac has power to all fields, and was our only player to leave the yard in our inaugural season. Zac brings passion, hard work, power, patience, and speed to the team. He'll hit one over your head, then track the same kind of ball down the next inning to rob the other team of a similar smash.

Zac's also a proud husband and father, as well as a
